Special Project: Façade – An Entertainment, a live production at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
The UTC production of Façade – An Entertainment was a special collaboration among faculty and students from the UTC Departments of Music, Art, Theatre, & Communications. Façade was originally created by musician Sir William Walton and poet Edith Sitwell. Area students from 5 area elementary and middle schools created drawings and paintings after listening to recordings of the scores. Under my direction, 3 visual art majors, Gaby Caloca, Kyle Wood and Steven Eddy created animations of the students' artwork - giving a lively background to the already robust performance. The videos were designed to play in sync as a triptych as the musicians and orator performed the sound components.
